The Forest's Floor Memory

The Forest's Floor Memory

In this composition, I explore the intricate, often overlooked architecture of the forest floor. By adopting a low-angle vantage point, the frame elevates a fragment of decaying timber into a monumental subject. This image also explores the tension between the permanence of the living forest and the slow, lominous disintegration of It's remains. The foreground wood serves as a focal point of intense sliver highlights, acting as a bridge between the dark, damp earth and the overexposed, ethereal canopy above. It Is a meditation on the "Notion Of Time" where the physical breakdown of organic material Is transformed into a sharp, geometric landscape through the selective focus of medium format film. The harsh directional light strips away the softness of the woods, leaving behind a high-contrast study of splintered edges and deep shadows.
