Hello Everyone
My name is Daniil, and I am a visual artist based in the Fraser Valley, British Columbia. My practice is rooted in the deliberate and meditative world of analog film, specifically utilizing the Toyo-Field 4x5 large-format system. For me, photography is not about the instant capture of a fleeting second, but rather an intentional dialogue with time and the landscape. Whether I am trekking through the mist of Sumas Mountain or documenting the intricate textures of a cedar grove, my goal is to translate the silent rhythms of nature into silver gelatin prints. Every image I share is the result of a slow, manual process—from the initial visualization on the ground glass to the chemical alchemy of the darkroom—ensuring that the final work is a tangible, high-fidelity archive of the world as I see it.
